TEAM SELECTION AND INITIAL BOOKING DETAILS
Ada and John will be in touch with everybody soon and the team selections will be finalised. When
team members have been advised and decided that they will go, then you can use this for reference.
HOTEL, and EVENING EVENT
We’ve booked 35 rooms at The Queen’s Hotel, Leeds for the evenings of 14th and 15th November. That
hotel is the HQ for the overall administration of the race and numbers will also be available there,
probably during the late afternoon and evening before the race: we’ll confirm that when we get final
details through from the English organisers.
This booking for the two nights is £186 per twin room, £386 double room, or £314 single room,
including breakfast – payable to the Club and then we’ll forward monies to the hotel. We’ve currently
reserved 35 rooms, but if we over-shoot we may be able to book more. The hotel needs to know final
numbers and we need to provide them an initial rooming list by around the 2 nd last week of October.
We’ll provide them the final rooming list during the beginning of November. See PAYMENT DETAILS
below.
The hotel is also where shuttle buses will leave for the course at Roundhay Park, where the races take
place. Those buses will need to be booked online by individuals (see presentation details below) and
will return from the course after races are complete.
The evening presentation and meal will also be held at The Queen’s Hotel. The cost for that will be £45
and should be booked online, as should the shuttle bus – cost £3 . See immediately below.
BOOKING LINK FOR MEAL AND TRANSPORT – Please use the following –
https://www.trybooking.com/uk/90515
The writer has done this and it’s very straightforward. You can also add details of any special dietary
requirements . The same site will also allow you to purchase a commemorative T-shirt, if you wish.
TEAM KIT
New caps will be re-imbursed for the cost of a Scottish vest and pair of shorts. We don’t hold stock of
these, but we have an arrangement with Migo Sports in Muirend - Scottish Veteran Harriers Club – Migo
Sports and this can be done online . Apart from vest and shorts you may wish to buy other kit, but that’s not re-
imbursed. Get your orders in as soon as possible, keep a note of the cost and see the PAYMENT SECTION below.
TRAVEL
The Club has booked a bus, leaving from North Hanover Street, Glasgow at 10.45 on Friday 14 th November. This
will be free for the first 49 members wishing to use it. The bus will return to Glasgow immediately after breakfast
on Sunday 16 th November. Contact Andy Law – law3659@gmail.com to book the bus.
Team members not using the bus will receive a £50 travel subsidy from the Club. That payment will be netted
off any amount due for accommodation. For those who are not staying at The Queen’s Hotel, payment will be
direct to the individual.
RACE DAY
There will be final details circulated in due course, once we have those from the English organisers.
PAYMENT DETAILS
We’d ask everyone to forward funds as soon as possible to the Club’s Account: -
Scottish Veteran Harriers Club
Account No 00778540
Sort Code 80-05-54 Please mark payment reference as England 25.
There are a variety amounts due, dependent on travel options, etc. Here’s how to work out what you
need to pay.
1. All team members receive a single travel credit of £50 or a free bus trip. If you are not using the
pre-reserved accommodation at The Queen’s Hotel, or booking the bus, simply provide Andy
Law with your bank details and he’ll forward the £50 to you.
2. Calculate your hotel cost for two nights – £186 for a twin room, £372 for a double room or £314
for a single. We know at this stage there are some team members who wish a twin room, but
don’t have a roommate yet. For those that applies to just pay the twin room rate and we’ll sort
out a suitable partner for you. If you know who you’re sharing a twin room with let Andy Law
know for hotel rooming list purposes.
3. Subtract 1 (if you are due that) to reach the net amount due.
4. Pay.
5. For Team Kit for new caps just treat that as a separate transaction. Let Andy know the amount
and your account details and he’ll organise that separately to the payment at 4 above.
6. Anyone wishing to stay for just one night contact Andy Law directly as we are likely to have to
make a reserve list for that. The rates in 2 above are a composite of two rates
If anyone wishes to pay by cheque, that’s fine: send it, made payable to Scottish Veteran Harriers Club,
and post to: -
